In July 2002, the City Council adopted the Farmers Branch Station Area Conceptual Master Plan.  This adopted plan is to serve as an amendment to the 1989 Comprehensive Plan for this 144 acres surrounding the proposed new DART Transit Station.  The Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) light rail station serving Farmers Branch is scheduled to be in operation by December 2010.
