The current Farmers Branch Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 1989. The planning staff has begun work on updating this plan in three phases based on geographic areas. Due to the increasing development pressure on the West Side, the West Side plan is being prepared first.
The purpose of the Comprehensive Plan is to develop an overall vision for the development of the West Side of Farmers Branch, to ensure preservation and enhancement of the existing amenities, and to encourage efficient and beneficial growth.
