The Building Inspection Department is just beginning to place documents online for public viewing. Since we have just started this project, the documents available are limited, but will be growing over time. If you don't find the documents you are looking for, come to City Hall to view the remainder of our documents on microfilm.
The type of documents available online include building plans, building permits, trade permits, commercial Certificates of Occupancy and Zoning Board/Building Code variances. Variance information can include packet information memorandums, application forms, property owner notifications and maps.
The link below will take you to the Thomas Reprographics Web site to view our documents. In the upper left corner, click on the green login box that will allow you to search for records. You may search for a document by address or document type. Small documents can be printed to a HP printer only. If you do not have an HP printer, copies are available at Thomas Reprographics as well for a fee. Large documents such as building plans can be printed at Thomas Reprographics for a fee.
Prices are available online at the Thomas Reprographics Web site.
Vacant Building Information
The City has studied the impact of vacant buildings and found that they can discourage economic development, become an attrative nuisance for children, a harborage for rodents and other vermin, an invitation to vagrants and criminals, become more vunerable to arson and have an adverse affect on businesses and residences and their property values.
To minimize the impact of vacant structures the City enacted Ordinance 3170 that requires vacant buildings be registered with the City and annual inspections be conducted. Click on the link above to view Ordinance 3170.
