The Farmers Branch Police Tactical S.W.A.T. unit is a specially trained unit trained to conduct the following operations:
- Barricaded persons and hostage situations
- Hazardous warrant service and high risk apprehensions
- Riot and crowd control
- Stakeouts
The S.W.A.T. unit is commanded by the S.W.A.T. Commander, who is directly responsible to the Chief of Police.
