The Farmers Branch Fire Department has adopted the 2006 edition of the International Fire Code, which regulates and governs the safeguarding of life and property from fire and explosion hazards arising from the storage, handling and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices, and from conditions hazardous to life or property in the occupancy of buildings and premises. See Ordinance 2968 of the City of Farmers Branch, Texas, which adopts the 2006 Edition of the International Fire Code and consists of amended and additional sections.
