Farmers Branch takes great pride in the 27 parks that fills the City’s 12 square miles. Branded as “The City in a Park,” Farmers Branch parks offer many recreational activities that are at the foundation of the community.
In December 2007, Farmers Branch honored not only its commitment to beautification, but also to the heroism and patriotism of the sons and daughters of Farmers Branch, with the dedication of a new place to rest, reflect and celebrate America and those that have defended our freedom. Liberty Plaza, the newest addition to Farmers Branch, boasts a 60- by 30-foot American flag, flying 150 feet off the ground, designed as a gateway into the City.
Located directly south of the Dr Pepper StarCenter, Liberty Plaza is in its early stages of growth. With future expansion on the horizon – including a water feature, patriotic sculptures, a walking trail and a meditation area – this plaza will become a place of living, working, playing, gathering, honoring and more.
The Farmers Branch Community Foundation is currently seeking donations to fund patriotic sculptures and other amenities at Liberty Plaza. Enhancements to Liberty Plaza will provide an opportunity for all those who visit to reflect on the contributions made by men and women who serve our country.
