JOB DESCRIPTIONS

DIRECTOR OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT and TOURISM - Responsible for directing all economic development tourism promotion activities; analyzing and developing long-term economic and marketing strategies for businesses and hotels; developing strategies for domestic and international trade; helping retain and grow existing business.  Bachelor's Degree in Business of Public Administration or related field and seven years progressively responsible experience in directing economic development and tourism activities.  2 years supervisory experience.  Master's Degree preferred.  

FITNESS ATTENDANT P/T – Must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, possess a class “C” driver license, possess a current CPR and an approved and current Personal Trainer certification or obtain one within three months of hire, able to obtain First Aid, AED and Blood Borne Pathogen Certificates within three months of hire.  Must have basic knowledge and skills in strength training equipment.

LABORER P/T (SEASONAL) – Working 40 hours per week through the spring and summer (approximately three months).  Completes routine light to heavy manual tasks in park maintenance.  Eighth grade education or GED and one year experience in parks or ground maintenance and possession of a valid class “C” driver license.

POLICE OFFICER – Next test to be determined. Must be at least 21 years of age, a citizen of the United States and have a high school diploma or GED with 12 hours of college credits.  Must have a clear criminal history and an excellent driving record.  Must be able to obtain TCLEOSE License and Basic Police Officer Certificate.  Application packets and requirements are available online at www.farmersbranch.info.  Only complete applications will be accepted which include: Application, Personal History Statement, Authorization for Release, Police Officer Checklist, copy of Driver License and proof of education.   

PUBLIC SERVICE OFFICER – Under the general supervision of a police lieutenant, performs a variety of administrative and support tasks within the Police Department where a licensed Police Officer is not required.  High school diploma or GED.  An application and F-3 Personal History Statement must be completed for this position.
