Farmers Branch eagerly anticipates welcoming DART Light Rail to the community when the DART Green Line is scheduled to be in operation in 2010.

The City of Farmers Branch plans to partner with developers to assist the City in creating a town center that will soon be served by DART light rail transit.

This town center will be a vibrant transit-oriented development with urban style, mixed-use projects. The vision for the area is a mix of retail stores and shops, restaurants, personal and professional services, offices and dense residential uses. In a transit-oriented development, daily activities are conveniently integrated in a place that encourages people to walk, bicycle and use transit.

The rail vehicles that will soon power up and down the Farmers Branch corridor will be more than just transportation vehicles. They will be vehicles to a better tomorrow. They will be a  means to more mobility, more economic development, cleaner air, reduced congestion, and a stronger, more vibrant Metroplex.
