Division Philosophy

The Court Division will abide by the laws of the State of Texas.  Municipal Court provides the City with the adjudication of fine only Class C misdemeanor  and ordinances within its boundaries.  The Municipal Court is created by State statute and is also a part of City government.  The court must operate within the overall governmental context, yet maintain its independence from other governmental branches and agencies of the City.
