Fall is known for
beautiful roses and this year there is
something new on the rose scene in the City. The Dallas Rose
Society will begin regularly meeting in Farmers Branch, beginning
with their September 28 meeting. The DRS meets on the fourth
Friday of every month with refreshments at 6:30 pm and the program
starting at 7. The Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center will
host the meetings at 14050 Heartside Place.
The September 28
program will be “A Hands-On Clinic on Exhibiting Roses,” in
preparation for the DRS Fall Rose Show to be held at the Farmers
Branch Senior Center, October 13 from 1 until 4 p.m. City
Landscape Manager Pam Smith said that the free admission program
and show are both excellent opportunities to pick up some helpful
hints so that residents can exhibit blossoms from their home
garden in October.
