[ARCHIVED] Farmers Branch celebrates the 4th, on the 3rd

Happy 4th graphic

FBTX ~ No community celebrates the Fourth of July quite like Farmers Branch and everyone is invited this year as the annual Independence Day Celebration is planned for Wednesday, July 3 at the Farmers Branch Historical Park.

Entertainment will be provided by the band, Limelight. Concessionaires will be on hand with many festival favorite foods. In addition, beer and wine will be available for purchase and there will be many activities for the younger ones in the KidZone.

The evening will be capped by the annual, spectacular, low-level fireworks display, after dark.

Blankets and lawnchairs are recommended for seating in the Historical Park's meadow. The Friends of the Historical Park will have chairs available for rent at $2 each, while supplies last.

Gates open for the general public at 6:30 p.m. with $5 admission for non-Farmers Branch residents. Kids 3 and under are free.

However, Farmers Branch residents and their guests, with a Firecracker Fast Pass (one per household), can enter the park at 6 p.m. and no admission fee. Any resident without a Firecracker Fast Pass can still enjoy free entry with a valid photo ID that shows a current Farmers Branch address.

Organizers remind residents that this is an extremely popular event and admission will be first-come, first-served with the gates of the Historical Park subject to closing when the park reaches capacity. Overflow viewing will be available at Liberty Plaza.
