A.2            Consider acceptance of donation from Kerr-McGee Oil & Gas Onshore, LP for $500 to the Police Department and take appropriate action.

 

A.3            Consider acceptance of donation from Wal-Mart for $1,500 to the Police Department and take appropriate action.

 

A.4            Presentation of Service Award.

Natalia Davis of the Engineering Department - 10 years of service.

 

A.5            Presentation of Service Award.

Mike Mixon of the Fire Department - 15 years of service.

 

A.6      Report on Study Session items.

 

A.7            Presentation of Board Applications.

 

 

 

B.0            Consider the following as Consent Items and take the appropriate action.

 

B.1            Consider approval of minutes of City Council meeting of June 16, 2003 and take appropriate action.

 

B.2            Consider adopting Ordinance No. 2727 denying TXU Gas rates as filed on May 23, 2003 and take appropriate action.

 

B.3            Consider adopting Resolution No. 2003-080 approving the abandonment of a storm sewer and utility easement within Two Colinas Crossing and take appropriate action.

 

B.4            Consider adopting Ordinance No. 2728 amending the City of Farmers Branch Code of Ordinances, Chapter 82, Traffic and Vehicles, Article II, Division 5, Section 82-73, relative to the placement of stop signs at the west and east bound approaches of Rollingdale Lane at Forestdale Lane and take appropriate action.

 

B.5            Consider adopting Resolution No. 2003-078 authorizing the Interim City Manager to execute an addendum changing the royalty fee calculation methodology in Section 5 of the Management and Operations Agreement between the City of Farmers Branch, and Camelot LF TX, L.P., a Texas limited partnership and take appropriate action.

 

 

 

C.1      Citizen Participation.

 

 

 

D.1            Consider adopting Resolution No. 2003-076 authorizing the Interim City Manager to purchase Motorola 800 MHz Simulcast Radio System Upgrade Equipment and take appropriate action.

 

D.2            Consider appointments to the Historical Preservation and Restoration Board, Community Watch Committee, the Senior Advisory Board and take appropriate action.

 

D.3            Consider adopting Resolution No. 2003-083 authorizing the Interim City Manager to execute a Sub Recipient Agreement between the City of Farmers Branch and the Texas Engineering Extension Service for State Homeland Security Grant Program Funds and take appropriate action.

 

D.4            Consider Council travel reports and requests and take appropriate action.

 

D.5            Presentation of Council Committee and Organization Reports.

 

 

 

The Mayor announces that the items on the agenda for the General Session have been concluded.  After a short recess, the meeting will convene for items in the Executive Session.  The meeting will reconvene into General Session after the items have been discussed in the Executive Session to consider any necessary action.  Texas Government Code Chapter 551 of the Open Meeting Law provides that such items as personnel matters, land acquisition, and pending and contemplated litigation may be discussed in closed session.

 

            Executive Session

 

E.1       Discuss land acquisitions - Texas Government Code Section 551.072.

 

Discuss sale, trade or leases of City-owned property or acquisition of property located in the area known as Old Farmers Branch.

 

E.2       Discuss pending and contemplated litigation - Texas Government Code Section 551.071.

 

Discuss Property Maintenance issues relative to the Commons at Valwood.

 

 

 

The Council reconvenes into General Session.

 

F.1            Consider necessary action on items discussed in the Executive Session.

 

F.2            Adjournment.

 

 

 

City Hall is wheelchair accessible. A barrier free entry is available at the main entrance of City Hall with specially marked parking spaces nearby.  The Council Chambers are accessible on the main floor of City Hall, to the left side.  Requests for language interpretation or other special services should be received three (3) working days prior to the meeting.  Such requests can be made to Mrs. Cindee Peters, City Secretary at (972) 919-2503.
