Terms & Organization
The Farmers Branch City Council consists of the Mayor and five City Council Members. The Mayor is elected at-large, with the remaining City Council Members representing five single member districts. The Mayor is the presiding officer for the City and represents the City at all official functions. Members of the Council introduce, deliberate and institute policy and ordinances for the betterment of the community. The Mayor and City Council members serve without pay for staggered terms of three years.
Citizen Comments at City Council Meetings
There are three ways to appear before the Mayor and Council during City Council Meetings:
- Citizens can request to appear before the Council during the ongoing meeting concerning an item on the current meeting agenda.(FORM)
- Citizens can request to address a specific topic at a future City Council meeting. (FORM)
- Citizens can request to speak during the Citizen Comments section on the City Council Agenda. (FORM)
